OTLA case study of an operational project on embedding literacy into performing arts courses led by Clean Break

Summary A case study on an OTLA London project led by Clean Break on embedding literacy into performing arts courses. This project aimed to establish cross embedding of performance and literacy into schemes of work along with increased use of IT in functional skills provision and literacy assessment. Four computers were purchased and, given the relative lack of IT expertise at Clean Break, collaboration with specialists at City and Islington College was set up to facilitate this. Clean Break is a women-only space and the students are women with experience of the criminal justice system and women at risk of offending.
